Louisiana Watershed Initiative (LWI)

About

Summary: The Louisiana Watershed Initiative (LWI) coordinates funding, data, and resources among five state agencies to reduce flood-risk through a watershed-based approach, which respects the natural functions of Louisiana's watersheds. There are nine regional watersheds in Louisiana. LWI focuses on regional watershed management, watershed modeling and data, and workforce development. The state has invested more than $440 million in projects through Community Development Block Grant Mitigation (CDBG-MIT).
