Welcome to nolawater.org, the online home of the Water Collaborative of Greater New Orleans. The Water Collaborative is a network that includes architects, engineers, educators, business-people and community leaders working together to improve water management in Southeast Louisiana. We believe New Orleans can be a global leader in green infrastructure, making communities safer and more beautiful by using nature-based design. We recognize that this region’s long-term sustainability depends upon conventional drainage infrastructure and flood protection working in parallel with urban green infrastructure and coastal restoration. This integrated approach is the best way to achieve resilience in the face of storms, subsidence and sea-level rise. Moreover, we believe every resident can make a positive contribution to creating these multiple lines of defense. By working together, the Greater New Orleans region can lead the nation in urban water management practices, design, technologies, and innovation.
